Located in the heart of Alor Setar, this tower, standing at 165.5 metres tall is Kedah's most recent landmark and the tallest communication tower in the northern region. It was built for Telekom Malaysia at a cost of RM40 million. It functions as both a telecommunications tower and a tourist attraction. The tower also houses some restaurants and a souvenir shop.
The Tower's platform allows visitors to enjoy a breathtaking view, that stretches from Gunung Jerai (formerly known as Kedah Peak) to the Strait of Malacca. From the tower, visitors will see vast expanses of paddy fields which lies outside of Alor Star - an amazing view especially during harvest time. The tower is also an observatory tower to look for the crescent moon to mark the beginning of Muslim months such as Ramadhan, Shawwal, and Zulhijjah, to celebrate Ramadhan, Hari Raya Aidilfitri and Hari Raya Aidiladha, respectively. The observation deck is at a height of 88 meters from the base of the structure
